everythingissatisfactual asked: I love your blog! It's a really great resource for all kinds of things, and I really appreciate it.
Anyways what are somethings your recommend to the beginner (books, websites etc)?
Thank you so much, keep up the awesome blog!
Thanks for your comment, I love your blog too! I think other people’s paths are so interesting, and we can learn a lot if we can share it with others.
As to your question, here’s a few good books for beginners. In all honesty though, everyone’s needs are different, so don’t be afraid to explore and look at any books that appeal to you.
WIth that, here’s some that cover a lot of common material. Check ‘em out:
“Paganism: an Introduction to Earth-Centered Religions” by Joyce & River Higginbotham (a great primer! I haven’t read their sequel “Pagan Spirituality” so hopefully it’s good as well)
“Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner” by Scott Cunningham (after reading this, check out “Living Wicca,” his Book of Shadows, and his other books)
“Energy Essentials for Witches and Spellcasters” by Mya Om (not enough beginner books focus enough on learning to feel and work with energy in my opinion. These are the fundamental skills that will serve you from day one)
“The Inner Temple of Witchcraft: Magick, Meditation, and Psychic Development” by Christopher Penczak (the first in his Temple series, lots of excellent practices here)
Woo! These are the books that stand out to me when I first started in the Craft, but there are so many great books (and a lot of crap too). But the more you read and learn, the better you’ll be able to separate the helpful books from the ones that don’t ring true for you.
Bright blessings, and let me know if you have any other questions!
Amethyst
